NextPixel Apps ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Tree Identifier: AI Scan & ID application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your information when you use our App.
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
Photos used for identification are sent only to Google Gemini and OpenAI ChatGPT after your explicit in-app consent. Images are not stored on our servers after processing unless you save them in the App.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
- Photos and Images: Photos you capture or select from your library for tree and plant identification. These images are sent to third-party AI services (Google Gemini and OpenAI ChatGPT) solely for identifying trees, plants, and related species. Images are not stored on our servers after processing unless you explicitly save them within the App.
- Support Communications: If you contact us for support, we may collect your name, email address, and the content of your inquiry.
- Subscription Information: When you subscribe to premium features, payment processing is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store your payment card details.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device Information: Device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and language preferences.
- Usage Data: How you interact with the App, including features used, session duration, and frequency of use.
- Crash and Performance Data: Diagnostic information such as crash logs and performance metrics to help us improve the App's stability.
1.3 Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect precise location data (GPS).
- We do not collect biometric data.
- We do not collect health or fitness data.
- We do not access your contacts or other personal files.
- We do not access your device's microphone unless explicitly required for a feature and only with your consent.
2. How We Use Your Information
- App Functionality: To provide the core tree and plant identification service and deliver identification results.
- Improving the App: To analyze usage patterns, diagnose technical issues, and enhance performance and features.
- Customer Support: To respond to your inquiries and troubleshoot issues.
- Subscription Management: To manage your subscription status and provide access to premium features.
We do not use your data for purposes unrelated to the App's core functionality without your explicit consent.
3. Third-Party AI Services & Data Sharing
Important disclosure: Our App uses third-party AI services to process your photos and identify trees and plants. Before any data is shared with these services, we obtain your explicit consent through an in-app consent dialog.
3.1 AI Service Providers
We use the following third-party AI service providers to power identification features:

- Your location data
- Your usage history or analytics data
- Your subscription or payment information
How data is processed: Your images are transmitted securely via encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) to the AI providers. The images are processed to generate identification results and are not stored on our servers after the results are delivered.

3.2 User Consent for AI Data Sharing
In compliance with Apple's App Store Guidelines 5.1.1(i) and 5.1.2(i):
- We clearly disclose what data is sent (your photos/images), who it is sent to (Google Gemini and OpenAI ChatGPT), and why (to identify trees and plants).
- We obtain your explicit consent through an in-app consent dialog before any data is transmitted to third-party AI services.
- If you decline consent, the AI-powered identification features will not be available, and no data will be shared with third-party AI services.
- You may revoke your consent at any time through the App's settings.
4. Other Third-Party Services
4.1 Analytics (Firebase)
We use Firebase Analytics to understand how users interact with the App. Firebase may collect anonymized or pseudonymized usage data, including device model, OS version, and in-app events. 4.2 Subscription Management (RevenueCat)

4.3 Advertising
If the App displays advertisements, we may work with third-party advertising networks. These networks may use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) to serve relevant ads, subject to your consent obtained via Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework. You can control ad tracking preferences in your device's Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
4.4 Third-Party Data Protection
All third-party service providers we work with are contractually required to protect your data and use it only for the purposes we specify. We confirm that each third-party provider maintains data protection standards that are equal to or exceed our own.
5. Data Retention
- Photos and Images: Processed in real-time and not stored on our servers after the identification results are generated.
- Identification Results: Stored locally on your device and can be deleted by you at any time.
- Support Correspondence: Retained for a reasonable period to provide assistance, then deleted.
- Analytics Data: Retained in anonymized or aggregated form and does not identify individual users.
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include:
- Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS) for all communications with third-party services.
- Secure API key management through server-side proxy infrastructure.
- Regular review and updating of our security practices.
While we strive to protect your information, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
